Master
Discourse,
Communication, Society
An
application for a new official master in Discourse,Communication,
Society (DCS) is under preparation. This Master is multidisciplinary, with
optional subjects from other official master degrees of the UPF,
UAB and UB.
The DCS Master, the first in Spain (and probably
in Europe) in Discourse Studies (ED) is aimed at students in
the humanities and social sciences in particular those who want to specialize in
ED outside their own undergraduate discipline and / or have the
intention to carry on a doctorate and a thesis of an important
dimension of
discourse analysis.
The Master in DCS has compulsory courses in (topics related to)
discourse studies, communication and social science, but in general
it is characterized by a very large freedom to choose elective subjects
in
many disciplines of the UPF, UAB and UB.
If the application of
the new Masters DCS is approved (in autumn 2008) in the
commissions of
the departments and universities involved, and if the national
evaluation agency, ANECA, approves it (summer 2009), the new Master's
degree
may start in September 2010.
